A passenger is seriously injured and a driver is ticketed in a two vehicle crash on Highway 96 North in Adams County at 2:44 p.m. Friday.

Deputies responded to a report of a crash involving a car and a tractor pulling an anhydrous applicator and two tanks.

Deputies found that the driver of car had fled the scene of the crash on foot.

The driver, 40 year old Howard Stambaugh of West Point, was taken into custody in a field north of the crash site.

A passenger in the Stambaugh car, 36 year old Laura Lawson of Quincy, was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor, 52 year old Dean Shupe of Warsaw, was not hurt.
Stambaugh was ticketed for DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving while revoked and no proof of insurance.
