A domestic disturbance late Monday morning results in the arrest of a Hannibal man.
Hannibal Police were called to 7 Wauneta Place around 11 a-m. On arrival they contacted a 27 year old male with a visible head injury. He told police he was assaulted with a hammer by his girlfriend’s father. Other family members indicated the suspect would not cooperate or come out of the house. Police say the suspect attempted to release a pit bull on the investigating officers. Family members secured the dog. Police say 42 year old Robert Culp Jr. was taken into custody after a 90 minute standoff. Police say Culp was arrested on a Missouri Probation and Parole Absconder warrant and taken to the Marion County Jail. Police say Culp also faces pending charges of assault in the first degree, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
