One Hurt in Canton School Bus Crash

A Canton man suffers moderate injuries in a traffic crash involving a van and a school bus on Highway 81 north of Canton at 7:50 a.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports the Canton R-5 bus, driven by 65-year-old Linda Shirey of Canton was southbound, slowing to make a stop when it was rearended by a southbound van, driven by 50-year-old Patrick Schumacher, also of Canton.

There were eight high school students on the bus. None of them were hurt.

Schumacher was taken to Blessing Hospital by Air Evac for treatment.
