If you thought Friday night was spectacular with the Northern Lights being visible over all of Missouri Friday night, there's a chance the Show Me State will get an encore Saturday night, too.

UPDATE: The Northern Lights did become visible over northern Missouri around 11:30pm. Here are two pictures taken from Canton, Missouri.

ORIGINAL STORY: If you somehow missed what happened over Missouri Friday night, all of the state saw the Aurora Borealis with many witnessing the brilliant lights with the naked eye. NOAA's Space Weather Forecast says it could happen again as the solar storm continues. Here's the map they just shared where they show the Northern Lights will once again be visible in Missouri, but Saturday night will likely be a little different.

That red line shows that Northern Lights should be visible through most of Missouri again Saturday night, but this time you'll need to look toward the northern horizon. Most likely time Northern Lights could be visible on the horizon from Missouri will be between 9p and 11p.

As of this writing early Saturday evening at just after 6pm, the KP index is 7.33 in northeastern Missouri. That's an indication of disruptions in the upper atmosphere meaning the higher the KP index, the better the chance that the Northern Lights will be visible again. Earlier today, it was up around the maximum of 9 again and could rise as the night goes on.

Keep in mind that the camera on your phone will be able to see the Northern Lights better than your eye. It's also important to get away from outside street lights as much as possible for your best chance to see them.

Unlike Friday night which was almost a certainty, Saturday night is a little more iffy. But, know that another sky show over Missouri is definitely possible.

One final note: According to NOAA, there's also a chance the Northern Lights could be visible as far south as Missouri on Sunday night, too. It just depends on the timing of the arrival of the historic rapid-fire CME's that made Friday night's skies so special.
