UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner has identified the man as 65 year old Keith Johns, formerly of Palmyra.

Hannibal Police have announced that the body recovered from the Hannibal Marina on Saturday, August 4 has been identified as a 65-year-old male Quincy resident. The investigation is ongoing but police do not believe foul play was involved. The Boone County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy. Results from a toxicology report could take six weeks to two months.

Hannibal Police confirm a body was discovered at the riverfront this morning. Around 9:48 a.m., officers were called to the marina area after a body was reported floating in the river. A male victim was pulled from the water by the Hannibal Fire Department Water Rescue Team and the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Detectives from the HPD Criminal Investigation Division also responded to the scene. A death investigation is now underway. Officials say more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
