Music Under the Stars Concert Series Continues on July 4
The seventh season of Music Under the Stars, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum-sponsored free summer concert series, continues on July 4 with King Omowale and the Majestic Lions.
King Omowale and the Majestic Lions is a seven-member reggae band with King Omowale at the helm. King Omowale was born in Southern California and moved to the Rasta Hills of Jamaica to learn reggae music. He has studied under Joe Higgs (guitar instructor of Bob Marley), Daddy U-Roy (father of toasting), and Johnnie Clark.
King Omowale has opened for Shaba Ranks, Bunny Wailer, Dennis Brown, and the Itals. He has released two albums "Flight Home" and "Zion Bound."
The performance begins at 7 p.m. in front of the Boyhood Home. Java Jive will be selling an assortment of sandwiches, chips, cookies, and ice cream and Main Street Wine Stoppe will sell assorted drinks. Each week there will be a free drawing for a Music Under the Stars t-shirt. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to the event.
