A Monday afternoon traffic stop in Monroe City results in several charges for the driver.
Monroe City Police say a vehicle driven by Andre White was stopped in the 200 block of First Street around 3:30 p-m. Police say White was driving while revoked. As police attempted an arrest… White resisted and the officer was injured. Backup from Monroe City Police, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Highway Patrol were called and White was taken into custody. During the investigation authorities found that White dropped a quantity of methamphetamine while resisting. White was placed on a 24 hour hold for driving while revoked, resisting arrest,assault on an officer resulting in injury, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
