The Missouri Department of Transportation has reopened Missouri Highway 15 north of Mexico.

MODOT reports that temporary repairs have been made to about a thousand feet of roadway in the area of a Sunday gas line explosion.
There will be a 35 miles per hour speed limit along that stretch until permanent repairs can be made.

The intense heat of the explosion Sunday cooked the oil out of the roadway, causing an unstable driving surface, with holes as large as ten inches wide.

The Davis Fork Bridge that also lies in that stretch of road was not damaged and passed an emergency inspection.
