MODOT Employee Honored for Lewis County Water Rescue
A MODOT employee is recognized for rescuing a driver this spring in Lewis County who got stuck attempting to drive through high water.
Transportation Maintenance Supervisor Robert Deters responded for high water on Missouri 16 in Lewis County. He found a and successfully rescued a woman who got stuck trying to drive through the water. By the time he got to her, the water was halfway up the vehicle door. Deters received a Meritorious Safety Award by the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission and MoDOT Director Patrick McKenna at the August Commission meeting.
