Unstable Air Could Mean Big Hail, Violent Wind in Missouri Friday

This proves that I pay attention to Missouri meteorologists more than they likely think. I saw a discussion among forecasters where the mention of unstable air over the state late Friday could mean some suddenly violent weather results. The problem is with the uncertainty of some key variables.

I saw this interesting graphic shared by the National Weather Service out of St. Louis today in regards to a potential developing weather situation over Missouri late in the day (and especially the night) Friday.

It's part two of their discussion where this gets interesting. Note the question about exactly how much unstable air will be above us potentially causing problems Friday.

There's not much confidence in anything because too many vital things will remain unknown until later in the day Friday, June 28 actually. This means you may not see much of an advanced forecast warning you of large hail and damaging wind even though that is very much a possibility over much of Missouri. It looks like the northern half of the state is the most likely affected area, but again...there's much that is not known.

I share this because when you have a system and/or conditions that can change on a dime, you can get an unwanted weather surprise if you're not aware. So, be aware that Friday night weather in Missouri could be interesting (and maybe troublesome).
