No boating fatalities are reported for this year’s Memorial Day holiday weekend in Missouri.

The Missouri Highway Patrol Water Patrol division investigated six boating crashes resulting in one injury. No drownings are reported. However, the Patrol reports 15 arrests for boating while intoxicated. That’s down from 20 arrests a year ago.

On the highways, Highway Patrol troopers report six fatal traffic crashes around Missouri over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. This year’s holiday counting period ran from 6 p.m. Friday through 11:59 p.m. Monday. None of the fatalities occurred in the counties covered by Troop B in northeast Missouri.

Troopers investigated a total of 298 crashes statewide resulting in 98 injuries. During the 2014 Memorial Day holiday, troopers report working 295 crashes resulting in 130 injuries and nine fatalities statewide.

Driving while intoxicated arrests are down for the holiday weekend. The patrol reports 105 DWI arrests around the state this year compared to 146 in 2014.
