Man Jailed on $1 Million Bond in Quincy Knife Attack
A man in Quincy has been ordered jailed in lieu of $1 million bond on charges he slashed the throat of another man.
The Quincy Herald-Whig reports that 27-year-old Alex Koehler made his first court appearance Thursday in Adams County on a charge of attempted first-degree murder.
Authorities allege that Koehler on July 2 used a knife in injuring 56-year-old Robert Owens. State's Attorney Jon Barnard says Koehler and Owens lived together from time to time.
Owens as of Thursday remained in critical condition at a hospital.
A message left Thursday with Koehler's court-appointed public defender seeking comment wasn't immediately returned.
