Adams County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a hunting accident near N200th and E2350th in rural Adams County Sunday.

Deputies found that a 26 year old male had been accidentally shot in the upper thigh while hunting.

The man was air lifted to Blessing Hospital in stable condition.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has taken over the investigation of the incident.

Adams County deputies were assisted at the scene by Pike County Sheriff’s deputies, Illinois State Police, Liberty and Barry fire departments and Adams County Ambulance Service.
