LaGrange Woman Struck by Pickup Truck in Quincy

Members of the Quincy Police Department responded to an Accident with Injuries call involving a pedestrian at 11th & Hampshire at 1037 hours on 11/25/2014.

Upon arriving on scene, officers found that Lara L. Begley of LaGrange, MO had been struck by a 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup truck being driven by 66-year-old Christopher S. Majors of Hannibal, MO.

Apparently Majors had just turned onto Hampshire St. from the Quincy Medical Group parking lot and Begley walked out in front of Majors' truck. Begley was not in the crosswalk and was struck by the front of Major's pickup truck and knocked to the ground. Begley was then run over by the front right wheel of Majors' truck and was pinned under the truck. Begley was extricated by members of the Quincy Fire Department and was transported to Blessing Hospital after suffering moderate injuries to her lower extremities.

Majors was not cited as Begley had walked directly in front of his vehicle and did not use the designated crosswalk.
