Kahoka Teen Dies from Injuries Suffered in Lewis County Crash

A Kahoka teen has died from injuries sustained in a two vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.

17 year old Devin Konichek was eastbound on Highway 136 east of Kahoka when he attempted to pass a farm tractor. Konichek’s truck collided head-on with a westbound car, driven by 22 year old Clarissa Somers, also of Kahoka.

Both drivers were taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment. Konichek was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon at Blessing.
