JWCC Trustees Approve Master Plan Required by Illinois

John Wood Community College trustees approve a state required master plan at this week’s regular meeting.
The plan serves as a guide for deferred maintenance… space conversion and future capital projects. Klingner and Associates developed the plan providing prioritized options as funding becomes available. Key features of the plan include development of more student engagement and collaborative learning spaces and expansion of career and technical program offerings.

Trustees also approved sale of the Kinscherff Adult Education and Learning Center at 122 North Fifth to Dandelion Studios LLC. JWCC’s GED… English as a Second Language… Adult Education and Retired and Senior Volunteer programs are now headquartered at John Wood’s main campus on South 48th. The 120-thousand dollar proceeds from the sale will be placed in an endowed scholarship fund with the JWCC Foundation in honor of the Kinscherff family who donated the building to the school in 2008.
