If you've picked up any water bottles recently in Illinois, you will want to check the labels as the state is suddenly now included with a dangerous water bottle recall from one of the most popular brands.

Food Safety News shared the word that a massive water bottle recall from a very popular brand has now been expanded to include Illinois and many other states. According to the recall information, 500 ml bottles of Fiji water have tested positive for manganese and three bacterial genera. These are especially damaging to the nervous system and the CDC says in large amounts can also damage the brain.

This is the water bottle to look for.

Here are the specific label details you need to check:

  1. UPC Code: 6 32565 00004 3
  2. Bottle UPC Code: 6 32565 00001 2
  3. Product Quantity: 78,533 cases
  4. Code Information: Nov. 11, 2023, Nov. 12, 2023, Nov. 13, 2023, Nov. 24, 2023, Nov. 25, 2023

If you find that you have this Fiji water, you are not to drink it. Get rid of the bottles or return them to the store where you purchased them for a refund.

This contamination is a dangerous one as the CDC says that high levels of Manganese can even interfere with reproductive processes along with the previously mentioned nervous system and brain damage.
