The Public Information Office of the Illinois State Police released details today of what happened early Sunday morning on an Illinois interstate. The report says the shooting occurred on Interstate 94 northbound near 73rd Street in Chicago. Their investigation led to the arrest of 54-year-old Ulyesee W. Burns of Calumet Park, Illinois. He has now been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

A 7-year-old boy in the victim's car was injured by the gunfire. The press release did not disclose the boy's condition, but ABC 7 in Chicago is reporting he is in serious condition in the hospital.
