A northern Illinois mother is now being held without bond while she faces first-degree murder charges for the September death of her 8-year-old son.

The Rockford Register Star reports Winnebago County Judge John Lowry rejected Jody Kossow's bond on Wednesday. The 39-year-old Rockford woman had been held on $2 million bond.

Thomas Kossow was a third-grader. His body was found Sept. 10 in the driveway of his home and an autopsy showed he died from multiple stab wounds.

Jody Kossow has pleaded not guilty to charges in the case and had previously tried to have her bond lowered to $1 million in November.

No trial date has been set in the case.
