
Hull Woman Dies in Friday House Fire
A Hull, Illinois woman is dead as the result of a house fire in Hull Friday morning.
According to Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty, Hull/Kinderhook firefighters responded to a report from a passerby that there were smoke and flames coming from a residence in the 400 block of Loy Street at 10:55 a.m. Friday.
Firefighters found 32-year-old April Priest in a bedroom of the home. Rescue personnel attempted life saving measures, but without success. Priest was pronounced dead the scene at 11:55 a.m.
Investigators believe the fire started in the living room of the home and spread down a hallway to the bedroom where Priest was found.
The Illinois State Fire Marshall's office is conducting an investigation. Foul play is not suspected.
