National Weather Service forecasters tell us that, if we can make through Monday, the rest of the week looks very nice.

Monday has the potential to be a stormy day and evening, with large hail, damaging winds and even tornadoes a possibility. High temperatures Monday are expected to get to 92, with heat index values running as high as 101.

Once the storms move out early Tuesday morning, sunshine and moderating temperatures move in through the beginning of the Fourth of July weekend. Highs are not expected to go beyond the mid 80s Tuesday through Sunday, with highs in the 70s predicted for Wednesday and Thursday. Low will hover around 60 through the weekend.

For Independence Day Friday, forecasters say it will be sunny with a high of 80 and a low of 62.

Forecasters say another chance of rain moves into the area Saturday night and Sunday.
