A homeless man has pleaded guilty in the stabbing death of a man in Peoria last year.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports 21-year-old Jay Conway pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree murder in the death of Dylan Propst in December.

Conway faces 20-35 years in prison when sentenced in October. He would have faced up to 60 years without the plea deal. Armed robbery and dismemberment charges were dropped in the agreement.

Police say Conway and homeless 24-year-old Adam Brown-Windle planned to rob Propst because he had what they thought was a significant amount of money. Police say Brown-Windle repeatedly stabbed Propst in a vacant house as Conway looked on.

Brown-Windle pleaded guilty to murder earlier this month and was sentenced to 50 years.
