HUNTSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A central Missouri coroner says a police chief who was found dead in his home earlier this week had been shot. The Columbia Daily Tribune reports Randolph County Coroner Gerald Luntsford said Friday that 64-year-old Huntsville Police Chief William Stuck died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 5:30 Wednesday morning.

(HUNTSVILLE MO)--The Missouri State Highway Patrol is working with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office in a murder investigation.  Huntsville Police Chief William “Buddy” Stuck was found dead at his home in north-central Missouri.  Deputies were called to the home early Wednesday.  Sheriff Mark Nichols says he asked for the state agency’s help because of the additional resources it can bring to the case.  The manner of the death hasn’t been released.  An autopsy is scheduled today.
