We knew that rain was coming this weekend to most of Missouri, but the biggest expected precipitation hasn't even arrived yet and pockets in the state have already reportedly seen as much as 4 inches of rain and maybe even more.

As we shared a couple days ago, forecasters were warning that Missouri would be seeing a lot of rain. The biggest amount of precipitation is expected to fall Sunday and into Monday of this coming week. But, look at the amount that the National Weather Service has shown in southwestern Missouri over the past 24 hours. The red area is nearly 4 inches of rain.

Here's video from southwestern Missouri from one of the storms that dumped all this rain.

There's another radar which shows one pocket of a staggering 7 inches of rain according to Radarscope, but I have NOT been able to confirm this with the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri.

Keep in mind that the heaviest rain is yet to come. The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain most of the day Sunday carrying over into Monday for nearly all of Missouri.

Please note that how much rain your area will receive will depend on where you are in Missouri. As you can see by the estimated totals provided by the NWS above, almost every part of Missouri should see some significant rain by the time this system makes its way through the state over the next few days.
