Hannibal Woman Charged in Monday Stabbing

A Hannibal woman has been charged in connection with a Monday morning stabbing incident.

Hannibal Police report that Brenda Watkins was charged Tuesday with second degree assault and armed criminal action for the assault of a Hannibal man Monday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a man down in the 100 block of Dulaney and found the man had been stabbed in the abdomen. He was life flighted to St. Louis for treatment.

About four hours later, Watkins was taken into custody.

Bond for Watkins was set at $50,000 cash only. She is lodged in the Marion County Jail.
