Victoria E. Norell of Hannibal has been formally charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Domestic Assault in the First Degree, and Armed Criminal Action following an incident on the morning of December 3 during which Hannibal resident Zac Meyer was stabbed in the chest twice. Norell is lodged in the Marion County Jail with a $100,000 cash only bond. Her first court appearance will likely be by video on December 9.

The victim, a 24-year-old male, had two stab wounds to his chest, but was conscious and alert when officers arrived shortly before 10:00 am on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at 421 Washington Street Hannibal.

Pointed out by a witness, the suspect, 29-year-old Victoria E. Norell of Hannibal, was ordered to the ground and taken into custody without incident. She was charged with Domestic Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action.
Norell has been placed on a 24-hour hold pending prosecutor review.
