Hannibal Man Jailed on Child Abuse Charges

A Hannibal man is in the Marion County Jail on child abuse charges.

Hannibal Police report officers were called to the 100 block of South Levering on a report of a domestic disturbance.

An investigation revealed a 20 month old child had suffered a severe burn.

The Marion County Children’s Division took the 20 month old and two other children under the age of five into protective custody.

Hannibal Police took 33 year old Ryan Brown and 24 year old Nancy Chacon of Hannibal into custody.

Chacon was questioned and released. A warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County Associate Division, charging Brown with child abuse and resisting arrest.

Brown is in the Marion County Jail on $25,000 cash only bond.

The children were taken to area hospitals for evaluations and medical treatment.
