Hannibal Man Facing Charges Following Auto Theft Report
A Hannibal man faces several charges after Hannibal Police say he stole a car Tuesday morning in the 1900 block of Hope.
Police received a call at 7:34 a-m reporting that a car left running unattended to defrost the windows was missing. Officers located the vehicle in traffic and a traffic stop was attempted in the 2200 block of Market. Police say the driver went into a parking lot and struck a car on Market driven by a 70 year old Hannibal woman. The driver then exited the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. Information from police and the public helped police locate the male driver in a residence in the 200 block of South Griffith. Hannibal Police say 20 year old Chayse Moseley was taken into custody without incident. Police say Moseley is charged with tampering, interfering or resisting arrest, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, no valid operator’s license and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Police say Moseley was taken to the Marion County Jail. Bond is set at 25-thousand dollars cash only. No injuries are reported as a result of the incident.
