Hannibal Man Faces Charges Following Vehicle Theft Report

A Hannibal man faces multiple charges following a stolen vehicle report late Monday night.

Officers were called to the 1700 block of Broadway at 11:54 p-m. Police spotted the stolen vehicle on Lincoln Street near Grand at 1:19 this (TU) morning. The suspect driver took off at a high rate of speed and the pursuit ended after a short distance. Another officer located the car several blocks away and followed it until it was out of sight. The stolen vehicle was spotted again at a business in the 2200 block of Broadway. Police say the driver—28 year old Thomas Spalding of Hannibal was arrested and charged with tampering with a motor vehicle… DWI and related traffic charges. Spalding was taken to the Marion County Jail pending formal filing of charges.
