Giving access to pneumonia vaccine to its patients is the purpose of grant money recently received by the Hannibal Free Clinic.

The Community Foundation awarded a $2,000 grant to the free clinic. Coupled with the Merck Vaccine Patient Assistance Program, the grant gives future patients of the clinic access to the Pneumovax 23 vaccine, benefiting patients with chronic conditions like COPD, asthma and diabetes mellitus.

The Hannibal Free Clinic has been providing basic health services for low income adults with no insurance, Medicare or Medicaid since 2007.
