Two of the Hannibal Police Department’s three Community Service Officers did some cleanup work along Bear Creek late last week.
The officers removed 212 pounds of trash and discarded junk from Bear Creek between the Ely Street Bridge and South Main. Police say those officers will perform this service periodically as weather and water levels permit. Police Chief Lyndell Davis says the department’s Community Service Officers duties have expanded over the years. C-S-O’s duties include animal control. They have been enforcing property maintenance and they have been patrolling parks with an emphasis on Riverview Park and Sodalis.
