Hannibal Cavemen Come Up Short in 7-5 Loss at Danville
The Hannibal Cavemen outhit the Dans 12-10 in Danville Tuesday night, but were outscored, coming out on the short end of a 7-5 score.
The Dans jumped on starting pitcher Drew Flatford for three runs in the first and two more in the second. The Cavemen answered with a run in the third on an RBI single by first baseman Romero Harris.
Hannibal scored two more in the fourth on a solo home run by right fielder Nicco Lollio and third baseman Seth Soto also crossing the plate.
The Cavemen made it 5-4 in the sixth when DH Ed Reichenbach doubled and scored on an error.
Danville scored twice more in the sixth, making it 7-4. Hannibal scored once more in the eighth on a pinch single by Wyatt Champlin.
The Cavemen's road trip continues Wednesday night in Terre Haute. The Rex will come to Hannibal for the Cavemen's next home game Thursday.
