Clean up is underway following the collapse of a grain bin at the Archer Daniels Midland facility in LaBelle early Wednesday morning.

Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish reports his office received a call from the plant manager at ADM that a bin holding several thousand bushels of corn had been compromised.

Initially, law enforcement re-routed traffic in the area while ADM officials started removing corn from the bin.

Parrish reports the bin fully collapsed just after midnight Wednesday.

At that point, law enforcement went door to door in the area of the facility asking residents to evacuate.

The bin is being emptied and the corn taken to ADM in Quincy.
