Goldberg Pleads Not Guilty, Asks for Change of Judge & Venue
A Las Vegas man has pleaded not guilty and has asked for a change of judge and a change of venue in the case of the murder of his father last year.
30 year old Carl Goldberg entered the plea Monday morning before Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd, who granted Goldberg’s requests for changes of judge and venue. The case now goes to the Missouri Office of State Courts Administrator for reassignment.
Goldberg is alleged to have murdered his father, Carl Maxwell, with a crossbow, and then placed his father’s body in a freezer in a Hannibal home.
Goldberg is charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action, and remains in the Marion County Jail on a million dollars bond.
