... know what you’re doing.

Get out the vote campaigns have set my teeth on edge for a very long time.  The emphasis is on going to the polls and casting a vote. That’s where those campaigns almost always stop.  The point of emphasis is in the wrong place. The important part is the homework before you go the polls. Know who you’re voting for, or against. Know what they’re likely to do if they get into office. Know how much of your money they intend to spend or save.

Voters also on occasion decide on various ballot questions. Same thing applies. Do your homework. Understand the consequences if the measure in question passes or fails.

Voting isn’t supposed to be easy. Building and maintaining the United States over the last 230 plus years wasn’t easy. Keeping the country on a solid track isn’t easy either.
