Although it's not a meteorological term, delightful would be a good word for the weather in the coming week in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters predict a quiet week, with seasonal temperatures and no precipitation through Sunday.

High temperatures for the week start out at 79 Monday and climb to 83 Wednesday before settling into the low 80s for the rest of the week.

Lows for the week will also be in a narrow range, from the upper 50s to around 60 Monday through Sunday.

Skies will be clear to partly cloudy, with no rain in the forecast through the weekend.

Officially, autumn begins at 3:21 a.m. CDT Wednesday, September 23.
