Five people are hurt, two of them seriously, in three separate traffic crashes in northeast Missouri over the weekend.

Three Lewis County residents are injured, two seriously, in a two vehicle crash on Lewis County Road 248 near Steffenville at 1:50 p.m. Saturday.

The Highway Patrol reports an eastbound vehicle driven by 48 year old Cecil Smith of Ewing and a westbound pickup, driven by 43 year old Aaron Lay of Lewistown, collided head on at a hillcrest.

Both drivers were taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy with serious injuries. A three year old passenger in the Lay truck was also taken to Blessing Hospital with moderate injuries.

 

A Madison man suffers moderate injuries in a single vehicle crash on Highway 151 south of Madison in Monroe County at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Highway Patrol reports 79 year old Donald Thomas was northbound when his pickup ran off the road and struck an embankment.

Thomas was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Mexico for treatment.

 

A Palmyra woman escapes with minor injuries in a one car crash at

Marion County Route W and County Road 432 northwest of Hannibal at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Highway Patrol reports 31 year old Elizabeth Shannon was northbound when her car ran off the road and struck a ditch.

Shannon was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
