A Hannibal man charged in the shooting of three people in March is granted a change of judge and a change of venue Monday.

Carl Emerson, Jr.’s motion for the changes was granted by Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd in Marion County Circuit Court.

Shepherd said that when a new judge is assigned, that judge will pick the new venue.

Emerson is charged with armed criminal action and assault in the shootings of Ben Gillum, Angelica Cadwell and Phillip Egbert at a gathering in the 1000 block of Fulton Avenue early on the morning of March 28th.

Emerson is in the Marion County Jail on $300,000 cash only bond.
