Illinois State Police report a drug and weapons arrest during a weekend roadside safety check in Quincy. Officers say that they observed a box of ammunition in plain view during a safety check at 30th and State in Quincy. After an investigation, it was determined that 37-year-old William Berry of Quincy was illegally in possession of drugs and a loaded firearm.

Berry is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, possession of 2.5 to 10 grams of marijuana, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and illegal transportation of alcohol.

West Central Illinois Task Force agents assisted in the arrest.
