(Hannibal)--Police say some individuals participating in Saturday morning's NEMO Shriner's Parade in downtown Hannibal had a close call with a drunk driver.

Officers report a 60 year-old Lake St. Louis man drove past a police vehicle trailing the parade and narrowly missed striking some participants.   The man continued on, driving between the parade and the police cruiser.  The driver finally stopped at South Main, where he was arrested for DWI and Driving While Revoked.

Police say the suspect was not affiliated with the parade and has several previous convictions for Driving While Intoxicated.  The driver’s name was not revealed in the initial report.  He was released on a summons.
