A gloomy weekend is expected to give way to a week of more sunshine and seasonal temperatures in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters predict that, after a cloudy day Monday, partly to mostly sunny skies will be the order of the day Tuesday through Saturday.

High temperatures should top out in the mid-40s Monday, drop to the mid-30s Tuesday and Wednesday, climb to the 40s Thursday and Friday, and settle into the 50s for the weekend.

Lows for the week are predicted to drop to mid 20s Monday through Wednesday, climbing into the 30s Thursday through Saturday.

Forecasters are calling for a slight chance of rain Sunday.
