Police say the disappearance of a Jefferson City man is likely a homicide.

Police Capt. Doug Shoemaker says evidence indicates that Christopher Cray was killed, although his body has not been found after several days of searching a landfill near Jefferson City.

Cray was last seen at a supermarket on May 20, and his abandoned vehicle was found May 26. Police suspect his body was thrown into the landfill.

Police said two men, Richard Love and Adam Moore-Duncan, are charged with crimes connected to the case. Moore-Duncan is charged with tampering with physical evidence and Love is charged with tampering with a witness.

KRCG-TV reports a probable cause statement says a third person also is a suspect in the case.
