Cooling Centers Opening Across the Tri-States

With triple-digit temperatures possible in the next several days, it’s good to know that there are places to cool off in Missouri.

Senior centers being used as cooling stations are located in LaGrange, Canton, Ewing, Shelbina, Clarence, Hannibal, Paris, Silex and Elsberry.  Nutrition sites include Palmyra and Perry.   In Pike County, you can go to the Bowling Green Senior Center at 501 West Champ Clark Drive or the Pike Pioneer Nutrition Center at 521 Georgia in Louisiana.

You can find a full list of Missouri cooling centers online from the Department of Health and Human Services. Other places in many larger communities also offer cooling stations.

The Quincy Salvation Army is also offering cooling centers at the Family Resources Office, and the Kroc Center.
