Cody Wilson Granted Change of Venue

A change of venue was granted Thursday in the case of a Canton man accused in the shooting death of his stepfather last April.

Judge Russell Steele granted 19 year old Cody Wilson’s request that his trial be moved from Lewis County to Adair County.

Wilson is alleged to have shot 56 year old David Brooks at a residence on Old Monticello Road as he argued with Wilson’s mother.

Wilson is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action. His trial has been set for June 11th of next year.

Wilson is in the Lewis County Jail on $1-million dollars cash only bond.
