I love warmer weather, so winter in Missouri so far (for me) has been almost too good to be true. But, even I have to ask why July temperatures are arriving in Missouri now even though we're not done with February yet?

I am not alone in my wondering. The National Weather Service out of St. Louis shared this graphic today about what Missouri temps will look like throughout the weekend and into next week.

There's even talk of a cyclonic storm system bringing severe weather to Missouri by next Tuesday. What would normally be a Spring weather event is now a winter calendar moment.

My wife even saw a daffodil blooming in our Missouri yard today. What gives?

Why has Missouri winter been so warm?

Heatmap is pointing the finger at climate change. While I don't agree with all of their conclusions, I am completely on-board with the simple fact that Missouri weather is changing.

Is winter really done with us already? The short answer is likely NO. If you look at history, you'll see a pattern of March snowstorms that have greatly impacted Missouri even as late as March 30. But, that's history and this is present and future and I have to wonder if we're really going to see a new weather model moving forward.

My wife (the meteorologist) is convinced we'll see more cold weather dips before this winter is done for real, but the next week or two seriously look like July and I'm not sure that's really a good thing.
