Missouri’s 30 Hottest Places Feel Like They Are On Fire Right Now
This just in. It's very hot in Missouri right now, but it's hotter in some places more than others. Safe to say the 30 hottest places in the state based on average temperature likely feel like they're on fire right now.
The good news is that we'll get a break from the heat eventually. September isn't that far away. Yesterday, St. Louis, Missouri tied a 143-year-old high temperature record from 1881. This peaked my curiosity about the hottest places in the state if you were to average all of the days of the year and not just the summer months. This is what I learned.
USA.com is a database site where you can search just about any information you're curious about. For me, it was the Missouri places with the highest average daily temperature. Here are the top 30:
- 1. 59.50°F Cooter, MO
- 2. 59.39°F Holland, MO
- 3. 59.38°F Steele, MO
- 4. 59.28°F Deering, MO

- 28. 58.70°F Malden, MO
- 29. 58.70°F Tallapoosa, MO
- 30. 58.66°F Campbell, MO
It makes sense when you think about it. Cooter, Missouri is so far south in the state, it's practically Arkansas. Same story for #2 Holland, Missouri.
I can't wait until this list is updated next year to factor in the daily highs from 2024. That should be entertaining.
