Illinois plans changes to deer hunting for the coming season.
Adams County will no longer be part of the late winter season and fewer permits will be issued in Pike County.

The changes result from recommendations by biologists at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. They reviewed deer hunting harvest numbers, vehicle accidents involving the animals and surveys of hunters.

The late winter season also is being closed in Calhoun and Hancock counties, and permits numbers are being reduced in Brown, Calhoun, Cass and Morgan counties.
