A rain delay Saturday evening didn't put a damper on Hannibal Cavemen bats.The Cavemen beat the Danville Dans 9 to 5.  Sports Director Bill Shuler had the call from Clemen's  Field...

"...  Danville put up 2 in the top of the first.  Hannibal answered with 2 in the first, 2 in the second, and 2 more in the third. Danville caught up with a run in the fourth and 2  in the fifth.  The Cavemen picked up 3 insurance runs in the 8th inning.  At the plate with the bases loaded and two down was Christian Cavaness...Swing and a fly ball into center field... there's Harrington back, he can't find it... it's over his head to the wall in center... that's going to clear the bases... headed to third, it's Cavaness with a three run triple!  It's 9 to 5 Cavemen!  Colton Kibler got through the 9th inning and picked up the save.  Hannibal with the win 9 to 5 over the Danville Dans at Clemen's Field..."

The Cavemen are off Sunday.  They travel to Terre Haute  to take on the Rex  Monday.  The Cavemen return home Saturday when they host Springfield.

Danville heads across the river Sunday to play the Quincy Gems.  Game time is 6:30 p.m.,  weather permitting.
