A Hannibal man was arraigned in Monroe County Court Tuesday morning in connection with the shooting of a police officer.

Appearing via videoconference, Timothy Brokes entered a not guilty plea to charges of assaulting an officer, armed criminal action and hindering prosecution.

Brokes is alleged to have shot Monroe City Police officer Jonathan Pugh in the leg during an altercation in Monroe City January 13th.

Brokes was being sought at the time for questioning in connection with a shooting in Marion County and a homicide in Hannibal the day before.

A preliminary hearing for Brokes is set for March 15th. He remains in the Marion County Jail on a half-million dollars bond.
