If you blinked, you missed it. There is confirmation from the National Weather Service that a tiny tornado did indeed touch down (briefly) and sneak through Branson, Missouri just prior to the Fourth of July.

This was an interesting status update from the National Weather Service in Springfield, Missouri today about what their survey team found investigating storms that went through Branson on July 3, 2024.

In case you can't read the Facebook post on your device, I'll summarize. They said that for two minutes (yes, two whole minutes), an EF-0 tornado with maximum winds of 80mph touched down in Branson, Missouri and was on the ground for 1 mile. It was only 150 yards wide, but those type of twisters can still do damage even as small as this one was. There were fortunately no injuries or deaths from this tornadic event.

There were numerous trees that were damaged by the storm and they confirmed this really was a tornado from local Branson law enforcement and drone video.

You might remember about a month ago when Branson had a surprise tornado touch down at a golf course which was captured on video.

It's like my dad used to tell me. If you don't like the weather in Missouri, just wait 10 minutes. It will change.
